Bloodthirsty Mary (Lincoln)
4 Sep
It was March 1871 when my dead husband informed me his assassin had indeed not been killed by the Union army six years previous. It is a sad day when a First Lady must do what able-bodied men cannot.
It took three years to track the man formerly known as Booth. I put the bullet through the front of his head, rather than the back. A lady, after all, need not be a coward.
Instead of bringing peace, my kill unleashed in me an all-consuming insanity. John Wilkes Booth haunted my dreams and claimed vengeance for himself in the end.

Interesting story. Loved the historical aspect! : )
Interesting, and a good end to that story.
I haven’t read much about Mary Lincoln, except that she hadn’t slept with her husband in their later years, but when he was dead, she kept a place for his ghost in her bed.
